Have Game, Will Play: Wooden Sen’SeY

You are Goro – a dual-axe wielding village chief who is out for revenge. Your axes are connected to chains and can be used to chop, swing and boost. The chains’ length is only evident when thrown for swinging, overhead attacks or the ground pound. The ground pound also doubles as an essential double jump. Otherwise players are forced to use his very short-ranged attack. That would more frustrating if there weren’t projectile weapons like bombs and throwing stars available. The number of available moves in Wooden Sen’SeY is far from extensvie but the game does a good job giving you varied locales and environments to chop, jump and swing in. The underwater stage was also a pleasant surprise.

Wooden Sen’SeY is a fun platformer but doesn’t do anything particularly special. However if you have had your fill of Shovel Knight, the Mario games and Rayman Legends on the Wii U, I would recommend giving Wooden Sen’SeY a try.

Recommendation: Buy this game – if you are platformer hungry on Wii U, otherwise wait for a sale
