Shin’en Multimedia have decided to give a non-Nintendo platform some attention and have released Nano Assault NEO-X for the PS4. This is an upgraded version of a game with the same name(sans ‘X’) for the Wii U eshop. The microscopic but deadly nanostray virus could potentially wipe out humanity and you pilot a ship that needs to go through four areas cleansing exposed cells. The shoot ’em up action looks great on the PS4 and like other games in the series it has a split-screen coop mode. The gameplay and power-ups, outside of the awesome and positionable satellite guns, don’t offer anything particularly unique for the genre. Nevertheless playing well on a system with few shoot ’em up alternatives is all Nano Assault NEO-X really needed to do.
Recommendation: Worth a buy
