Have Game, Will Play: Escape Goat 2

The original Escape Goat was an Xbox Live indie that caught some attention several years ago. It eventually made its way to the PC and would appear to be quite comfortable there.

Escape Goat 2 brings the horned hero back to rescue his friends and himself, as he’s trapped as well. Solving environmental puzzles to obtain a level key is the only way to progress. Of course, the mouse from the original game is back to assist the goat by fitting into tight spaces and triggering inaccessible areas.

Thematically Escape Goat 2 is very similar to its predecessor but offers levels with more complexity. The most striking disparities lie with the visuals and sound. This game is much more vibrant and audibly appealing than the original. The levels themselves also benefit from the substantial graphical upgrade. Much busier and challenging levels await, many more moving parts must be considered when attempting to reach the level’s keys. Escape Goat 2 is tastier than a tin can and should definitely be on the radar of folks who are fans of puzzle platformers.
